Openair-Concert

Schwellenmätteli, Bern

Show: 20:00

Patent Ochsner im Schwellenmätteli | 02. - 10. August 2023

Patent Ochsner will play seven exclusive open-air concerts at the beginning of August 2023 in Bern at the Schwellenmätteli sports ground. Under the impressive Kirchenfeld Bridge directly on the Aare, in the middle of the city of Bern with a view of the Cathedral and the Bundeshaus, Patent Ochsner will reveal their best in a very unique setup.

The musical concept of the shows is based on Büne Huber’s picture exhibition in the Natural History Museum Bern and is a further development of Patent Ochsner’s successful unplugged-concerts.

The complete harmony of melody and lyrics has made Büne Huber the most successful songwriter in Switzerland. What many know already: This fusion is created while painting. The front man of Patent Ochsner often hears initial song ideas and melody fragments in his studio, sounding text modules, so to speak, and then stands in front of the easel. Pictures and collages, short stories, vignettes, letters and artistic postcards provide touching, funny and sometimes disturbing insights into his work.

Some of Büne Huber’s works will be on display at the Museum of Natural History Bern from 30 July to 27 August 2023. A kind of picture diary of an artist’s soul that is difficult to tame. Many of Patent Ochsner’s songs have long since become folk songs. Those who know them will recognise the history of the songs from the pictures. Anyone who has a ticket for one of the seven concerts in the Schwellenmätteli can visit Büne Huber’s exhibition free of charge. The museum is within walking distance of the concert site. Tickets for the concerts are available on Ticketcorner.

To make the event unique and an experience, the Schwellenmätteli restaurant offers an exclusive show-dinner.
